Alan Hall’s Vision of GrowAmerica

A few years ago, Alan Hall, co-founder of GrowAmerica Ventures, had a vision…

You see… Alan is a successful entrepreneur that built and sold MarketStar.  As a result of his exit, he became an active angel investor and venture capitalist.  In a few short years, he had invested in over 100 companies and had helped to form several angel groups throughout the state of Utah.

As he began to look at all of the companies that were approaching him for funding, he noticed that he was seeing A LOT of companies, but only investing in a few.  In fact, in one year, he and his team looked at over 700 companies — only to invest in 7 (or 1% of the companies).  While he was excited about the 7 investments, he was bothered by the fact that he couldn’t help the other 693 companies in any fashion.  As a result… the idea of GrowAmerica Ventures was born.

Alan approached Brock Blake and Trent Miskin, CEO & CTO respectively of FundingUniverse, about the idea and together, they dedicated themselves to building a company that could help entrepreneurs across the United States to start and grow their business.  The idea has come full circle and we are now ready to launch!

Give it a try and let us know what you think!
